Salado Christmas Tree Farm
Types of trees

At our farm, you may select and cut a tree from the trees we grow, or you may choose a precut tree from our large assortment.

In our part of Central Texas, the soil conditions allow us to grow two varieties of Christmas trees. The first is technically called the Elderica Pine, but most people call it an AFGHAN PINE. It is long-needled with a natural Christmas tree shape. It is especially suited to our high pH soils and drought conditions.

The second tree is the LEYLAND CYPRESS, a new introduction to the Christmas tree industry. It has a non-traditional but luxurious appearance, with soft foliage instead of the needles of the pine tree. Leylands are reproduced by cuttings, so there is none of the pollen that may cause problems for allergic individuals. Some of our choose-and-cut Leylands are ideal for those who prefer a small tree.

For lovers of short-needled trees, we offer hand-selected FRASER FIRS from North Carolina. These beautiful mountain-grown trees offer traditionalists both the farm experience and a very familiar tree.
